The STYLE Story

Life Happens...

You've been wearing clothes since you can remember--haven't shown up naked yet!  But then life happened.....you got promoted, switched jobs, down-sized; you got married, moved to the suburbs, had kids, moved to the city, divorced; your body changed; you changed.....the wardrobe that was working for you just isn't anymore.  The STYLE Principle is here to help!

The STYLE Principle is a Chicago-based wardrobe styling company established by Susan Mowder.  Working 16 years in the fashion industry, Susan discovered true personal STYLE is Specific To Your Life & Essence.  While most people do have an idea of the style they wish to exude, the challenge is often the time, desire and sense of how to achieve it.  Susan--armed with a MS in Education, a knack for proper fit, and a passion for fashion--has traveled across the country teaching the secrets of wardrobe styling success.  The STYLE Principle was created so she could do the same for you!

The mission, a wardrobe that is:

  • Reflective of your personal style
  • Appropriate for your lifestyle
  • Complimentary to your body style
  • Easy to use
  • Respectful of your budget
  • Enjoyable to experience everyday!

Yes, every piece!

Be A Lady

This Spring, the fashion world wants you to embrace your ladylike prettiness.  A la the 1950's, the key item is the dress.  You can choose a fitted-waist style or a simple sheath design; opt for a romantic but daring lace, or a sweet but sassy floral; pick from a palette of delicious pastels, or stay simple in white.  This season, it's truly the fashion to be a lady!

Just Let It Go!

Each season fashion picks a body pary it likes to feature and expose (for example, legs, back, etc.)  This season the area of attention is the abdomen.  As you know, some trends are more flattering for certain people then for others.  So, if you work in the corporate world, need to be perceived as credible in anything you do, and/or don't do 600 sit ups a day, best just to let this trend go.  There will be another one in just a few months anyway.
